Great insight into the piece above and El Mac‘s time in Vietnam.
Stoked on this series by Sofarida documenting an installation by Nelio, Tblr*one and Zerozedrip. Really like the pace set by the five videos, forces you to take in the construction and scale of the work. Grab a baguette and enjoy.
Made a quick piece with Clemens Behr yesterday for Stattmarkt. If you’re in Berlin, should pop down to Stattbad and check out the last day of Gio’s artist market. Brenna has some nice shots from the install over at Urbanartcore.eu
Though not unexpected, sad day today to learn of Christopher Hitchens death. HIs writings are addictive but his use of language in debate was brilliant. Great examples of this in the following clip.
I remember searching through documentaries and coming across one tilted “Mother Teresa – Hell’s Angel” and thinking yes, time to grab a wine, sit back and enjoy whatever this sacrilegious gem has to offer. Afterwards, I realised my days of eschewing hero-worship were over and space on the mantelpiece had to be made. If you’ve got 25mins spare, I recommend watching the doc.
A year ago I started a tribute to HItchens but failed to finish. It was on the deep end wall of an old diving pool, mid-winter and cut short with a tirp back to Australia. I documented the start of the piece but only got a fraction further before having to take it down. The grand plan was a reworking of the Cathedra Petri and Gloria in St Peter’s Basilica with Hitchens on the throne toasting the doctors of the church below. High time for another crack I think.
A Johnnie Black cut with Perrier tonight for you sir, you wil be missed.
